Dr. Brian Most FRPS DPAGB : 1930 - 2010

President Brian MostHavant Camera Club is sad to announce the death of Brian Most who passed away peacefully in his sleep last night (13th January) after battling against illness.

Brian was a loyal member of both Havant Camera Club and the Royal Photographic Society for several decades.  A popular lecturer at both Club and Federation level, Brian had been on the PAGB Judges’ List for many years and served on the juries of many national and international exhibitions.

Traditionally a slide worker and print maker, Brian was a talented photographer who successfully transferred his skills to the 21st century media – both for capture and printing.   Over the years it has been of great benefit to Havant Camera Club to have Brian’s work available for use in external competitions where it has ensured that we have achieved a fair amount of success.

Within the Club Brian used his expertise to the great benefit of members, demonstrating techniques at Club evening and being a strong guide to members of our Portfolio Group.  He was always pleased to be able to pass on the benefit of his lifetime of experience to younger / more recent converts to the joys of photography.

In addition, for ten years Brian organized the Club’s programme bringing us an excellent and well balanced range of events.

In recognition of his contribution to the Club, Brian’s name was added to the Southern Photographic Federation’s Roll of Honour in 2009.

His company, ready wit and general good humour will be much missed around the photographic community.

We would like to extend our deepest sympathy to his wife, Tessa.
